The Apparition trailer looks rather scary

TheApparition.jpgWhat drew me to watch The Apparition trailer originally was the fact that I saw Tom Felton's name and wondered what he was up to after he'd left Harry behind, and much like Harry himself he's decided to head to horror and it looks a rather good choice judging from the trailer.

The film has an interesting concept that borrows some plot and visual cues from a few other horror films you might recognise, there is definitely an Asian horror influence in here but then that's no bad thing if it manages to deliver something new, and I think it will.

The film is directed by Todd Lincoln from his own script and stars Ashley Greene, Sebastian Stan and Tom Felton. Here's the blurb for The Apparition:

When frightening events start to occur in their home, young couple Kelly (Ashley Greene) and Ben (Sebastian Stan) discover they are being haunted by a presence that was accidentally conjured during a university parapsychology experiment. The horrifying apparition feeds on their fear and torments them no matter where they try to run. Their last hope is an expert in the supernatural (Tom Felton), but even with his help they may already be too late to save themselves from this terrifying force...

So that's everything you need to know about it, but it's the trailer that you should see. Yes there are a few moments where you'll think of other horror films and for me they were both Japanese horrors, but there are a good few influences here which will be just fine as long as the core of the story is strong enough to be its own, and from the opening it looks like it has just that.

Actually, having just thought about it I can see why there might be recognisable moments in the film considering where the horror is coming from.

You can see the trailer for The Apparition over at Apple Trailers, and if you like creepy horror with some rather cool moments then you should consider watching it. This could be good.
