Epic trailer delivers uncertainty

ColinFarrell.jpgEpic is a CG (yes it's 3D as well) film from Pixar that didn't really get my full attention until this trailer. Well I say trailer but this is much more a teaser or even a showreel as for almost the entirety we get scenes from the film without any audio, just a Snow Patrol song over the top, and it's hard to understand what the story is from it.

Thankfully there's a good blurb to go with it, and so here is the teaser for the Epic from the creators of Ice Age and Rio with a voice list including Colin Farrell, Amanda Seyfried, Beyoncé Knowles and Steven Tyler.

I know I should be a little more excited but I none of the three big tick boxes excite me enough on their own anymore, this needs a good trailer and we don't have one yet.

Here's the blurb for Epic:

Epic is a 3D CG action-adventure comedy that reveals a hidden world unlike any other. From the creators of Ice Age and Rio, Epic tells the story of an ongoing battle deep in the forest between the forces of good and the forces of evil. When a teen age girl finds herself magically transported into this secret universe, she must band together with a rag-tag team of fun and whimsical characters in order to save their world…and ours.

Now here's that trailer or teaser, or even showreel that comes through JoBlo, a trailer that doesn't tell us anything about the film and sells it not a jot:

Seems a bit of an epic waste of a trailer.
