Flight trailer hails Zemeckis' return

Flight.jpgWow. Although we've heard the track before on trailers and there's a bit of recognition of that, the rest of the trailer for Flight looks spectacular. Sure a lot of that is down to the crash footage which looks unbelievable, but a lot of it is due to the drama that is created for our leading character played by the superb Denzel Washington.

Washington stars alongside John Goodman, Don Cheadle, Melissa Leo, Bruce Greenwood, Kelly Reilly and more in a film written by John Gatins and directed by, and this is the big moment for the film, Robert Zemeckis.

Yes there are no funny characters, no motion capture (that we know of anyway) but there is a lot of stunning CG and the story is a strong thriller. I'm really excited to see what Robert Zemeckis has delivered with this film especially after seeing the trailer.

The blurb for Flight sets up and interesting story:

In this action-packed mystery thriller, Academy Award winner Denzel Washington stars as Whip Whitaker, a seasoned airline pilot who miraculously crash-lands his plane after a mid-air catastrophe, saving nearly every soul on board. After the crash, Whip is hailed as a hero, but as more is learned, more questions than answers arise as to who or what was really at fault, and what really happened on that plane?

Now add to that the fact that after the crash it's discovered that he had a drink the night before the flight, perhaps a drink or two more than the average person, and it looks like the blame for the crash might turn on him, at least in his own mind anyway.

I love the way this story is built and the effects in the trailer are just stunning. Here is the trailer which comes from Apple Trailers and can be seen here through YouTube:
