Meirelles' 360 trailer shows great cast
I'm not sure if the trailer for Fernando Meirelles' 360 has really grabbed me or if it's just the list of names involved. After all there's Meirelles himself who directed City of God and The Constant Gardener, there's Peter Morgan who wrote Frost/Nixon (Filmstalker review) and The Queen, and there's a cast list of Rachel Weisz, Anthony Hopkins, Jude Law, Ben Foster, Jamel Debbouze and Moritz Bleibtreu.
There are a lot of great names there and with Meirelles directed the Morgan script it's attractive enough just reading that on paper, so what more could the trailer offer? Well I'm not sure it does offer anything more apart from a little confusion.
The blurb for 360 goes like this:
360 is a moving and exciting dramatic thriller that dazzlingly weaves together the stories of an array of people from disparate social backgrounds through their intersecting relationships.
...and that's pretty much what the trailer suggests. An ensemble of disconnected characters that may well connect and come together at some point in different ways, we just don't know how yet.
To be honest the trailer offers no real hook other than showing us that there's a great cast.
Here's the trailer for 360 that you can see over at Apple Trailers but I've embedded from YouTube:
Well what did you think? The trailer is a slew of famous faces in disconnected stories none of which delivers enough for me to be that interested, it's all in the names in front of and behind the camera, and that's enough to sell me on the film. Is it for you?
