Cloud Atlas trailer arrives and is amazing
There are moments of beauty and moments that are utterly breathtaking, moments that are moving and others that fill you with the desire to know more. The trailer itself is almost a work of art and at five minutes and forty one seconds long it's something more than a trailer.
What's more is that this epic trailer has also been released with an additional teaser of the three directors, yes three, talking about the epic film, and even from the trailer it looks epic.
Cloud Atlas is a film that has been long talked about and comes from the talents of Andy Wachowski, Lana Wachowski and Tom Tykwer who between them share writing and directing credits and the mind of David Mitchell who wrote the original novel. In front of the camera is an equally impressive cast with names such as Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Jim Broadbent, Hugo Weaving, Jim Sturgess, Doona Bae, Ben Whishaw, James D'Arcy, Zhou Xun, Keith David, David Gyasi, Susan Sarandon, Hugh Grant and more.
Here's the short blurb for Cloud Atlas that tries to tell the story before the epic trailer gets a hold of you.
"Cloud Atlas" explores how the actions and consequences of individual lives impact one another throughout the past, the present and the future. Action, mystery and romance weave dramatically through the story as one soul is shaped from a killer into a hero and a single act of kindness ripples across centuries to inspire a revolution in the distant future.
The trailer, well the trailer is something else. It's not often that something inspires me to see a film and this trailer certainly has done that. It's looks amazing and the multiple stories and characters are utterly fascinating to watch. I'm so intrigued as to what this might end up becoming as I watch it on screen that I can hardly wait.
Plus I'm excited to see Halle Berry in something decent surrounded by a great cast and Hugh Grant looks great in his costume!
Seriously the trailer looks amazing, and you can see it over at Apple Trailers and below, I'd say hit it up in high definition and as big a format as possible. Here's the easy version through TrailerAddict:
Once you've seen it you should be pretty much in awe of what you've seen, I know I was. So immediately head over and watch the director's commentary video which I thought would be the three directors talking about the trailer, but instead they're talking about what the project means to them and how they made it actually happen. I really liked it and it added something real and personal to it. Not that I needed to be, but I was sold again after seeing this.
Cloud Atlas now can't come soon enough, but it will, and that'll be October and November for most of us with some European releases waiting for next year.
