Stolen Japanese trailer sells action

NicolasCage.jpgI never really understand why Simon West faded away after Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, which I still consider to be one of the better videogame adaptations out there and a good fun film, but he did. Now he's back directed The Expendables 2 and this film, Stolen.

The film has a strong premise and a good cast and the trailer looks like it could be fun, and in this action film it's not the Nicolas Cage character that has the silly costume it's the Josh Lucas character.

Starring Nicolas Cage, Josh Lucas and Malin Akerman Stolen follows a high-end bank robber who was caught, lost ten million dollars in the process and sent to prison for a very long time. Now he's out and his daughter has been kidnapped by his ex-partner who wants his share of the money.

Sounds a pretty good set-up, but there's more. From the trailer we have it looks like, since he destroyed the original stolen cash, that he's going to have to steal another ten million to pay for his daughter's safe return and all while he's being chased by the FBI in the guise of Danny Huston.

All this and directed by Simon West so that you know you're going to get action but with a good dose of storytelling in there too.

Here's the quick blurb for Stolen:

A former thief frantically searches for his missing daughter, who has been kidnapped and locked in the trunk of a taxi.

The trailer for Stolen comes through TrailerAddict and looks like a pretty good action film, what do you think?
