The first two short trailers for The Girl, the HBO and BBC produced film about the relationship between Alfred Hitchcock and the actress Tippi Hedren who starred in The Birds and Marnie, has appeared online and it hooks you in almost immediately, in fact the teaser trailer is nigh on perfect for grabbing the audience.

The film stars Toby Jones as Hitchcock, Sienna Miller as Hedren and Imelda Staunton as Alma Hitchcock and is directed by Julian Jarrold who also directed films such as Kinky Boots, Becoming Jane, Brideshead Revisited and Red Riding: In the Year of Our Lord 1974.

The Girl will look at the story of Alfred Hitchcock and his leading lady Tippi Hedren for both The Birds and Marnie and is due to be seen first in America on October 20th. So far I'm not sure when we're going to get to see it in the UK.

The teaser trailers suggest another great performance from Toby Jones and they promise some great inside moments into the filming and their relationship together, thankfully it doesn't seem to look further than that and mention Hedren's appearance in The Birds II: Land's End.
