Universal Soldier: A New Dimension trailer, yes it's still going

VanDamme.jpgI've seen a few poor trailers this morning but I couldn't not mention a trailer for another instalment in the seemingly never ending franchise of Universal Soldier, especially since it brings back Dolph Lundgren and Jean-Claude Van Damme yet again.

This time it seems they are both fighting together to take over the world and one soldier stands in their way, although as yet he doesn't know he's a soldier. Scott Adkins plays a sleeper who is about to be woken.

Jean-Claude Van Damme looks like to be channelling some Marlon Brando from Apocalypse Now in certain parts of the trailer and I don't just mean the bald head but the whole feel of the character from the trailer suggests something similar for him.

It will be action galore and for those who are finding their action glands desperate for more from films like The Expendables 2 then this is perhaps going to satisfy them, and the surprising thing is that it does look like it carries a decent budget.

Could this actually turn out to be fun and be the best of the series yet? Well since the original that is, or how could you top "you're discharged, Sarge"?

Here's the trailer for Universal Soldier: A New Dimension as it comes through JoBlo:

You know it does actually look like fun, but after enjoying JCVD so much I did hope for a little more depth from his future roles. I guess Expendables 2 and Universal Soldier: A New Dimension will put paid to that idea.
