The Sessions gains new trailer
We saw a trailer for The Sessions some time ago and it looked fun then, now with this new trailer the film looks just as much fun but also more emotional too, and the fact it features John Hawkes, Helen Hunt, William H. Macy and Moon Bloodgood is nothing but attractive.
The Sessions tells the story of a man who is paralysed and wants to experience the sexual side of life at the tender age of 38, and so he hires a sexual therapist to help him and confesses all to his priest.
The film looks on the subject matter in a light hearted way to begin with but you can tell that things are going to get serious and emotional at some points, but from some of the comments you can see from reviews it does manage to find a good line between the emotional and the comedic sides, after all comedy about sex could so easily fall flat.
Ben Lewin writes and directs The Sessions and the blurb goes like this:
Based on the poignantly optimistic autobiographical writings of California-based journalist and poet Mark O'Brien, The Sessions tells the story of a man confined to an iron lung who is determined - at age 38 - to lose his virginity. With the help of his therapists and the guidance of his priest, he sets out to make his dream a reality.
It's a strong story and turns out well in the trailer, and with that cast list I'm really keen to see it. In the UK we'll be waiting until January next year with the US, New Zealand and Australia beating us to it by the end of this year and the European release spread across January.
Here's the new trailer for The Sessions through TrailerAddict, well worth watching.
