New Jack Reacher trailer offers fun and action

JackReacher.jpgI have to admit that I haven't read the Jack Reacher novels and I wasn't overly sold on the previous moody trailer for Jack Reacher although at least he did have a good car and the fight scenes looked pretty real.

Now though there's a second trailer and it has a little of everything in it and actually attracts me to the Reacher film than the previous. This looks good.

We also get to see more of the other characters in the Christopher McQuarrie written and directed film, yes he's doing both here. We get to see a little more of David Oyelowo and Rosamund Pike who are both in the film along with names such as Robert Duvall and Werner Herzog, yes really.

Here's the blurb for Jack Reacher to give you an insight into where it's all starting from.

In an innocent heartland city, five are shot dead by an expert sniper. The police quickly identify and arrest the culprit, and build a slam-dunk case. But the accused man claims he's innocent and says "Get Jack Reacher.". Reacher himself sees the news report and turns up in the city. The defense are immensely relived; but Reacher has come to bury the guy. Shocked at the accused's request, Reacher sets out to confirm for himself the absolute certainty of the man's guilt, but comes up with more than he bargained for.

Now here's the new Jack Reacher trailer through TrailerAddict, you can see the previous here on Filmstalker too:

I'm rather taken with it, and no that's not a reference to the telephone call, although I do love the way that's done and how he calls them back. The crowd scene is also rather nicely done too and I do wonder how much wry humour there's going to be in this film.

I know Tom Cruise doesn't look like the way Reacher is described in the books, but I think he might pull the character off, don't you?
