New John Dies at the End trailer
A new trailer for John Dies at the End has arrived online and it's looking rather good although I have to say I'm still very confused about the story that it's going to be telling, still, at least there's a monster made out of meat.
Thankfully there's a strong blurb to go along with the film and explain what Don Coscarelli, the writer and director of Bubba Ho-Tep (Filmstalker review) and Phantasm, is trying to tell us in the adaptation of the David Wong book.
Here's the blurb for John Dies at the End so that you know a bit more about it before we go any further.
It's a drug that promises an out-of-body experience with each hit. On the street they call it Soy Sauce, and users drift across time and dimensions. But some who come back are no longer human. Suddenly a silent otherworldly invasion is underway, and mankind needs a hero. What it gets instead is John and David, a pair of college dropouts who can barely hold down jobs. Can these two stop the oncoming horror in time to save humanity? No. No, they can't.
Right, got it? Even with that and the trailer you'll still be looking at it wondering what the hell it's all about, but in a good way, an intriguing I have to see this kind of way.
Here's the trailer for John Dies at the End through Apple Trailers and First Showing which is set to arrive in American cinemas on 25th January 2013:
So what do you think? Is something this odd going to pull you in to see the film or will it be on the reputation of the writer/director and his previous films? The lure of Bubba Ho-Tep (Filmstalker review) is a big one for me.
