Les Misérables International trailer sings its own praises
Les Misérables the big screen epic version is getting closer and there's a new international trailer to keep interest going for the film. Actually the trailer does more than just keep the interest going, it builds it fantastically well.
There's quite an epic feel to the film but it keeps the camera focused on the individual characters and their voices, and speaking of voices have you heard Russell Crowe sing?
I'm surprised that the trailer has allowed the individual actors voices to stand at the fore of the trailer and sing so clearly, it's a bold move although so many of them have great voices - Anne Hathaway, Hugh Jackman, Amanda Seyfried, and a few not so, Russell Crowe most noticeably, saying that though he's not bad and isn't anywhere in the ranks of some big name actors we've heard in some film musicals.
There are some surprising names in there too, apart from Crowe, Eddie Redmayne, Sacha Baron Cohen and Helena Bonham Carter also star, and while the last two names have been seen in a musical before Redmayne is another surprise because the bloke can sing too.
The other thing that strikes you about the Les Misérables trailer is the scale of it, this production is definitely getting away from the stage play and going for the big budget cinematic feel. Chances are this is going to be huge.
Here's the blurb for the film:
Prisoner 24601, known as Jean Valjean, is released from prison and breaks parole to create a new life for himself while evading the grip of the persistent Inspector Javert. Set in early revolutionary France, the story reaches resolution against the background of the June Rebellion.
