Snitch trailer shows strong cast
Now I am a fan of Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock, I love action films and I think the man can act as well as be the perfect on screen action hero, so bear that in mind before reading on. When I first saw that Snitch was a film with Johnson I was expecting another action film with him leading the way and kicking everyone down after he'd been kicked there himself. Wrong.
What the trailer shows us is that there's a great cast in this film and for most of it we're steered clear of the action element and fully focused on the dramatic side. The trailer sells me on Snitch more than the average Johnson film and it should do for you too.
Here's a blurb for Snitch straight up:
In the fast-paced action thriller, Dwayne Johnson stars as a father whose teenage son is wrongly accused of a drug distribution crime and is looking at a mandatory minimum prison sentence of 10 years. Desperate and determined to rescue his son at all costs, he makes a deal with the U.S. attorney to work as an undercover informant and infiltrate a drug cartel on a dangerous mission -- risking everything, including his family and his own life.
The film is directed by Ric Roman Waugh who also wrote the screenplay with Justin Haythe who co-wrote The Clearing and wrote Revolutionary Road, so already your interest should be piqued. It stars Dwayne Johnson, Susan Sarandon, Jon Bernthal, Harold Perrineau, Barry Pepper, Michael Kenneth Williams, Benjamin Bratt and Melina Kanakaredes, more reasons to be interested.
Then there's the trailer for Snitch, a trailer that builds well, and holds onto the dramatic for a good while before delivering some action. I love the way it concentrates on the characters and builds their motivations well before throwing us some action, and the transition to that with the gun store shot is rather nicely done. I like it.

Now that's looking like more than the average Johnson/Rock action film isn't it? Way more in fact.
