Primer director's new Upstream Color trailer
It's difficult to say much about the new film from Shane Carruth, the writer and director of the rather intriguing Primer, for the trailer and blurb carry less information than those that were released for Primer before anyone managed to see the film.
Upstream Color has a blurb that catches your interest but bears little relation to the trailer and neither really tells a story or points us in the direction of how the story might progress. It's hard to know whether to be interested or not.
Shane Carruth's Primer is what is going to draw people to Upstream Color though, but the question is will that be enough for you?
I do think that mystery works really well but when it goes too far it backfires, ask Damon Lindeloff and Ridley Scott about that. Mind you when it's handled cleverly it can be a revelation. So far with Upstream Color I'm not convinced.
Here's the blurb for the film:
A man and woman are drawn together, entangled in the life cycle of an ageless organism.
Now here's the trailer for Upstream Colour through Collider which you can also see over at Apple Trailers:
Any ideas?
