A Good Day to Die Hard family trailer
We are being spoiled today as we see a new trailer for A Good Day to Die Hard, the latest Die Hard film and perhaps the last. It sees Bruce Willis returning as John McCLane teaming up with his son Jack, played by Jai Courtney, to fight like mad against a seemingly unstoppable enemy in none other than Russia
The new trailer looks fantastic and has even more wild action sequences but also concentrates on the father and son relationship a lot more than the previous have.
I must admit that this was one of my concerns for the film A Good Day to Die Hard, McClane and his son fighting together sounded like a standard handover plot where they were lining up to handover to a younger leading actor and it would nudge out the old. You know the kind of thing that makes the new Ghostbusters film idea reek to the skies.
Well this trailer pushes that away and it seems like it might be more of a McClane partnership, but will it be the last for Bruce Willis and will it be the last Die Hard? The film will dictate that I believe. If it works as well as the previous then he might be tempted back for one more.
Skip Woods delivered the script for the film and John Moore directed and both have good and bad points about their previous writing and directing credits - Moore directed The Omen remake and Max Payne but then he had Behind Enemy Lines and the Flight of the Pheonix remake. Let's hope they come together on this film.
As a total aside it's interesting that the Russian President doesn't want American parents adopting Russian children but he's happy for the American film industry to make a film there.
