Luhrmann's epic The Great Gatsby trailer
I must apologise for missing this trailer for The Great Gatsby when it came out, well last year now. Seems strange for me to say that! Anyway this is the trailer for the new film from Baz Luhrmann, his grand new version of The Great Gatsby from F. Scott Fitzgerald.
With it comes a fantastic cast leading with Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan, Joel Edgerton, Isla Fisher, Jason Clarke and Tobey Maguire to name but a few. The trailer looks glorious and suggests Luhrmann is onto another winner.
If you don't know the story of The Great Gatsby then let the following film blurb tell you all you need to know before you get to the trailer:
An adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's Long Island-set novel, where Midwesterner Nick Carraway is lured into the lavish world of his neighbor, Jay Gatsby. Soon enough, however, Carraway will see through the cracks of Gatsby's nouveau riche existence, where obsession, madness, and tragedy await.
Now here's the trailer for The Great Gatsby through TrailerAddict, see what you think:
It looks lavish but not at all over the top and there's a great deal of drama in there with the promise of some great performances from some superb names. I'm really rather sold on the film already and I think it has the potential to be a superb moment for Carey Mulligan's career as she stars alongside the excellent Leonardo DiCaprio. Will they match Robert Redford and Mia Farrow in the 1974 version of The Great Gatsby?
