The Host new trailer looks good

TheHost.jpgA new trailer for the Andrew Niccol directed film The Host adapted by Niccol from the Stephanie Meyer novel has arrived and thankfully it's looking much more interesting than Twilight did and it looks like it could easily attract a more diverse audience. No teen angst here.

With Saoirse Ronan, Diane Kruger, William Hurt, Max Irons and Jake Abel there is definitely something for everyone and while the story does have that angst and romantic theme there it does look like it will offer more than the Twilfs wanted or received.

Here's the blurb for The Host:

What if everything you love was taken from you in the blink of an eye? The Host is the next epic love story from the creator of the, worldwide bestselling author, Stephenie Meyer. When an unseen enemy threatens mankind by taking over their bodies and erasing their memories, Melanie Stryder (Saoirse Ronan) will risk everything to protect the people she cares most about - Jared (Max Irons), Ian (Jake Abel), her brother Jamie (Chandler Canterbury) and her Uncle Jeb (William Hurt) , proving that love can conquer all in a dangerous new world.

I know there's that similar theme in there but there does seem to be a lot more, I'd give this trailer from TrailerAddict a chance and see that there's more here than Twilight offered.

You can see something of In Time (Filmstalker review) through the styling and I'm wondering how will Andrew Niccol will do with this film after having received a pretty average response for that film. I have to say I thought there were some good things to be had from In Time, perhaps the fact that he's adapted it from Meyer's novel is a positive, perhaps not.
