Action heavy Fast and Furious 6 trailer
I have been looking forward to Fast and Furious 6 not just because of my love for the franchise but also for the renewed direction and drive - if you'll pardon the pun - which Fast and Furious 5 (Filmstalker review) brought to the franchise. I've said it a lot and I'll say it again, this film gave the franchise a lot more than just the fast cars, it gave it stronger characters, relationships and turned it into a heist film.
The previous trailers for Fast and Furious 6 have been suggesting a similar direction, but this new trailer seems to go back on that slightly. It's all car action, over the top stunts, although the story is still there, this feels more like the older Fast and Furious films.
Here's the blurb for Fast and Furious 6, you probably know it by now but there's a little more here than normal. Thanks to TrailerAddict for having this as well as the trailer.
Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne Johnson lead the returning cast of all-stars as the global blockbuster franchise built on speed races to its next continent in Fast & Furious 6. Reuniting for their most high-stakes adventure yet, fan favorites Jordana Brewster, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Sung Kang, Gal Gadot, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges and Elsa Pataky are joined by badass series newcomers Luke Evans and Gina Carano.
Since Dom (Diesel) and Brian's (Walker) Rio heist toppled a kingpin's empire and left their crew with $100 million, our heroes have scattered across the globe. But their inability to return home and living forever on the lam have left their lives incomplete.
Meanwhile, Hobbs (Johnson) has been tracking an organization of lethally skilled mercenary drivers across 12 countries, whose mastermind (Evans) is aided by a ruthless second-in-command revealed to be the love Dom thought was dead, Letty (Rodriguez). The only way to stop the criminal outfit is to outmatch them at street level, so Hobbs asks Dom to assemble his elite team in London. Payment? Full pardons for all of them so they can return home and make their families whole again.
Wow, that's got to be everything you would ever need to know about the film without actually seeing it!
Here's the new trailer for Fast and Furious 6:
This marks the last film in the franchise for the director Justin Lin. He's now made four of the films and was planning to stay for one more however the studio pushed the production date forward and he just didn't feel happy with the shorter timescales. So it's Lin's last run for the franchise, we just hope he keeps up the strength he brought to the previous film, although a lot of that is around the writers.
Will the sixth be the best yet? Everyone's there to copy what they did with the fifth but is this trailer pampering to the car fans or is it showing the franchise returning from the strong diversion of the fifth?
