Canet's English language, big cast, Blood Ties

BloodTies.jpgThere's not a great deal of story to be gleaned from the trailer for Blood Ties but there are three key things you should know up front that should make you leap towards this trailer. One is that it is directed and co-written by Guillaume Canet with James Gray also co-writing, and then there's the cast list.

Zoe Saldana, Zoe Saldana, Mila Kunis, Marion Cotillard, Clive Owen, Lili Taylor, Billy Crudup, James Caan, Noah Emmerich, Matthias Schoenaerts and Griffin Dunne. All those names should have you moving on to watch this trailer.

Blood Ties is an English language remake of the French film Rivals transferred to 1970's Brooklyn and telling the story of two brothers on opposite side of the law. Billy Crudup plays the policeman brother and Clive Owen the recently released from prison criminal brother, jailed for twelve years for murder. Unsurprisingly the ex-criminal brother turns back to crime for money and he gets involved in a bank truck heist which is brother, on the opposite side of the law, finds out about.

You might think that this is a standard story on the face of it but Canet and Gray are reasons to expect something more from it, even if the trailer doesn't sell it to you.

Here is the trailer for Blood Ties through Quiet Earth, check out that cast:
