We're the Millers trailer, Aniston strips for art
Oh I harp on about this one a lot but it's a worthwhile harping. Jennifer Aniston. Her performance in Derailed was cracking and it made you sit up and realise that she could really act. Of course up until then she'd been delivering post-Friends performances and since then she's been doing standard comedy. What a waste.
More comedy now with We're the Millers and to add to that the film, and the trailer, will feature her with her clothes off to attract more audience - is the comedy alone not working? Why didn't the studio opt for 3D as well? Might earn more profit.
Oh listen to cynical old me. It's true though. Mind you there's a faint light of hope on the horizon in the form of an untitled Elmore Leonard novel adaptation. Oh yes it's still a comedy but there's a hint of something more in those films so she might be able to give us some of that talent in there.
I just think it's been such a big waste considering just how well she did do in Derailed (Filmstalker review), and while the film had a few issues her character was insanely good.
Ah well. Let's see her in a comedy film where she's also a stripper. That'll stretch her, and if not it will draw audiences to the hope of some half-naked Jennifer Aniston. Just to prove that's the case the studio have helpfully added those scenes into the trailer.
Here's the blurb for We're the Millers which, I have to admit, is kind of a good story to kick off from:
A veteran pot dealer creates a fake family as part of his plan to move a huge shipment of weed into the U.S. from Mexico.
Not much there but let me elaborate. The fake family are pretty dysfunctional, especially as his wife is a stripper he roped into the deal. Jennifer Aniston plays the stripper and there's a strong comedy cast to go along with her.
Here's the trailer for We're the Millers through Deadline, admittedly it does have some moments:
