Out of the Furnace trailer delivers massive cast
The trailer for Out of the Furnace is like surprise after surprise as just about each shot brings another high profile actor into the cast list. There's Christian Bale, Zoe Saldana, Woody Harrelson, Willem Dafoe, Forest Whitaker, Casey Affleck and Sam Shepard, and more.
Written by Brad Ingelsby and Scott Cooper who also directs, Cooper also directed Crazy Heart, and that's another damn good credit for the film. I have to say I'm excited by the list of names, I wonder how the film is going to hold up?
The story for Out of the Furnace isn't one that blows me away, in fact it feels familiar in a lot of areas throughout the trailer, but I have high hopes for the performances from some powerful actors. Here's a plot outline:
Russell and his younger brother Rodney live in the economically-depressed Rust Belt, and have always dreamed of escaping and finding better lives. But when a cruel twist of fate lands Russell in prison, his brother is lured into one of the most violent and ruthless crime rings in the Northeast - a mistake that will almost cost him everything. Once released, Russell must choose between his own freedom, or risk it all to seek justice for his brother.
Without further ado you should leap into the trailer, which comes through TrailerAddict, for Out of the Furnace for it does look good.
I'm rather taken by the trailer but I do think that if it wasn't for the list of names and faces I would have easily walked by the trailer, the story doesn't leap out at me and I think it might be relying a little too much on the names. Still, why not?
