Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen bad blood

There's some bad blood flowing between Michael Bay and Megan Fox, and speculation is growing as to whether or not she'll be on the third film, never mind if he will. While Fox has commented on the action fuelled films of Bay, he has returned with some rather churlish and ego filled comments himself, proving that both are playing the same age in the back and forth comments about the film....
Visit Filmstalker for the full story.
Ong Bak 2 trailer online

There's a superb new French trailer for Ong Bak 2 that cuts right to the heart of the film and doesn't try and deliver every strong point of the film. This is a real action based trailer, and it works a treat. Ong Bak 2 has gone through it's fair share of troubles, as has Tony Jaa the man in front and behind of the camera, but it seems to have come through the other end unscathed, and perhaps even better for it. Have a look and see for yourself....
Visit Filmstalker for the full story. Restricted feeds to protect content.

Producer talks The Last Airbender trilogy

It looks like the desire is most definitely there for a trilogy from Avatar series beginning with The Last Airbender, and if the producer is really clued into the plans from the studio it would look the trilogy is flying ahead. Already it would seem that M. Night Shyamalan is writing the second outline and it looks like they're going to go back to back, sharing the productions, and delivering the three films over six years....
Visit Filmstalker for the full story.
Tron sequel script reviewed

The script for the TRON sequel, we think called TRON 2 or TRON 2.0. thankfully no longer TR2N, has been reviewed. However right up front I'll let you know that the script appears to be a very early draft and should be rather different to the one we finally see on screen. However there are some interesting reveals to be had and we learn a few things about the planned story, and despite how many different writers have been rewriting this since, many major threads will remain the same. So read on for the review....
Visit Filmstalker for the full story. Restricted feeds to protect content.

Brothers trailer online

The remake of Susanna Bier's Brødre (Brothers) by Jim Sheridan also called Brothers has released a trailer on the internet, and it definitely seems to be sticking close to the original story. Brødre starred Ulrich Thomsen, whom I really do like as an actor, Connie Nelson and Nikolaj Lie Kaas, and it really is a powerful, thoughtful and provocative film with Thomsen giving a great performance....
Visit Filmstalker for the full story.
View-Master film!

We're hearing that Hollywood is set to remake another eighties toy, no they aren't only going after videogames, this one's something completely different, it's going to be a story about View-Master. Yes, View-Master is set to be the next big thing for the film merchandising people, and the script is set to be written really soon. What form the script will take is a good guess, but the writer has revealed what it's all about....
Visit Filmstalker for the full story. Restricted feeds to protect content.

Heathers director talks sequel

The director of Heathers, Michael Lehmann, has been putting the record straight about a Heathers sequel it seems, and according to his comments there is no Heathers sequel and there probably won't ever be one, despite what Wynona Ryder says, and she says a lot. She does keep talking about a Heathers sequel, but people need to realise that this is what actors do a lot, they see a potential starring role for them and they start pitching or leaking the idea through the available media channels, the hope being that the more they talk about it, the more likely...
Visit Filmstalker for the full story.
Michael Jackson This Is It documentary?

It wasn't going to be too long before we started hearing about a Michael Jackson film in some form or another, and it's not going to be stopping at one either. The first could be a documentary about his preparation for the This Is It tour, a documentary that has over one hundred hours of footage and is being considered as a possible feature....
Visit Filmstalker for the full story.
After watching Le Donk at the Edinburgh International Film Festival 2009 it surprised me to remember that he's been talking about doing a horror film. So after films link Le Donk, Dead Man’s Shoes and This Is England, he's still talking about making a horror film, Beware the Devil, a film that's going to be one of his “bigger ones”....
Visit Filmstalker for the full story.
Planet 51 trailer online

The first full trailer for Planet 51 has arrived online, it had a very distinct feel then and looked fantastic. Now the trailer changes the focus somewhat and it goes from something a little quirky to a little more stock, but don't write it off, it's looking really good and a lot of fun. Planet 51 tells the story of an astronaut from Earth who heads off on a mission to investigate a far off planet. When he gets there he finds that the planet is inhabited with what he would class as green aliens, but they're living in the...
Visit Filmstalker for the full story.
Asteroids the film!

I firmly believe that video games can provide great material to make superb films just as books do. The problem is that either poor original material is chosen, just like with books, or that the adaptation process is rubbish, just like any other source material. However that argument holds no water when you hear of Hollywood spending millions to get the names of video games like Asteroids to adapt for film. Yes Asteroids, I mean what is there in that game to make into a film?...
Visit Filmstalker for the full story. Restricted feeds to protect content.

Closing Credits: Karl Malden

Karl Malden, aged ninety seven has died in his sleep, at home on Wednesday night. Although he doesn't have a rolling list of credits to his name, his face and distinctive voice will make you remember him immediately, and if you were ever a fan of the television show The Streets of San Francisco, then you'll definitely remember him. However there's much more to him than leading that television series for some one hundred and twenty episodes from 1972 to 1977....
Visit Filmstalker for the full story.
Resident Evil 4 the final chapter confirmed

We already heard that plans were afoot for a fourth (or fifth if you count the CGI film Resident Evil: Degeneration) and where the film will take place, that special effects teams have been hired and the script is being written, but nothing concrete. Today more rumours are out suggesting that the film might be hitting cinemas at the end of next year, and that the fourth, or fifth, film in the series has a title, Resident Evil: Afterlife....
Visit Filmstalker for the full story.
Predators gains director

Predators has its director, and it's one of the names that's already been banded around, Nimród Antal. You might be thinking who's he? Well let me say Control (Filmstalker review), Vacancy (Filmstalker review) and Armored.
Official Carriers trailer online

The trailer for Carriers was online back in January but was quickly pulled, now it's back and it's been re-edited. Focussing more on the thriller and psychological horror aspect of the story it seems stronger than ever. It also gets to capitalise on the notoriety of Chris Pine now that everyone who's anyone has seen him in Star Trek (Filmstalker review), and I think that's a damn good thing, especially now I've seen the trailer....
Visit Filmstalker for the full story.
