Filmstalker Manifesto

Welcome to Filmstalker. Say it how you will, but there is an aim to this site and I thought it best to lay it out from the beginning and let you in on it. After all, this really does concern you.

Filmstalker

  • This site is going to be about film news, feature articles and reviews
  • For me, this site is a passion. I love film, be they in the home or at the cinema, and that is why this site is here
  • The idea behind this site is to build a community of film fans
  • The site will encourage you, the reader, to engage in discussion around these topics
  • The site will give you informative and in-depth reviews which will never knowingly contain spoilers or plot revelations unless clearly marked with warnings
  • The site will be UK focused, but will cover news and films from all over the world
  • Comments are encouraged and welcomed, with an open atmosphere being promoted. However defamatory, inflammatory, personally attacking, and downright indecent comments may well be removed

Advertising

  • There will be no pop-up advertisements on this site
  • Advertisements will appear to help fund the site. This funding may extend to my own life to allow me to spend more time on the site and the community, as well as more cash on development, but this will never be used as an earner for me to retire
  • Associates programs will be used on relevant links, however this should not overly affect the experience of the reader
  • If any of the advertising affects the readers experience in a negative manner, please contact me directly

Articles and Reviews

  • Reviews and other articles will be written from my viewpoint, my beliefs and my desires. Feel free to disagree and say so, but please do back up your argument
  • Reviews will not retell the story of the film, that is yours to discover. Instead they will discuss the acting, cinematography, story, direction and overall effect of the film.
  • Reviews will, as far as possible, not contain any spoilers. When they do they will be clearly marked as such
  • Reviews and articles may contain links to those companies who provided the material for the review, this is a common practice. At no point will this affect the review or article other than to thank or mention the supplying company
  • Articles will contain references of where the story was found and links to exactly where it originated from when possible. Unlike some other sites, I will give full and proper credit where it is deserved

Me

  • I will be contactable and attempt to answer all emails, and as many comments as possible
  • However large this site becomes, I will not. My ego will remain the same and I shall not become an institutionalised critic
  • Please note that I have my own site for discussions and beliefs outside the film industry, I will divorce these as far as possible from this site, and I ask that you do too
