New Skyline trailer in HD with screen captures

Skyline.jpgThe feature trailer for Skyline has arrived online and the effects are looking fantastic, another epic alien story and this one looks like it really has humanity on the run.

An alien race arrives, begins harvesting humans, and defeats all our attempts to destroy them, and then they land. Not only do I have the high definition trailer link, but I've pulled together a number of screen captures so you can see the aliens and some of the effects of the film up close.

Skyline comes from the directors Colin and Greg Strause and writers Joshua Cordes and Liam O'Donnell. The Strause brothers previously directed Alien vs Predators: Requim and have carried out special effects for a ton of films, including the recent Battle: Los Angeles, which is where the studio got upset because they did the effects on an bigger budget alien invasion film and then directed their own alien invasion film with just as big effects but way less budget.

Anyway, let's forget all that business talk and look to the film. First up there's a quick blurb for Skyline:

In the sci-fi thriller Skyline, strange lights descend on the city of Los Angeles, drawing people outside like moths to a flame where an extraterrestrial force threatens to swallow the entire human population off the face of the Earth.

Then I'll give you the link for the high definition trailer over at Apple Trailers where you can see the excellent trailer for the film.

Finally I'll drop you in a whole bunch of screen captures I've done from the trailer to give you a close up on the action. You can head over to the Flickr tag for Skyline and see them in big formats.

So the cast isn't huge, but there are recognisable names and faces, mainly from television, Eric Balfour from 24, Scottie Thompson from NCIS, David Zayas from Dexter, Donald Faison from Scrubs, Brittany Daniel from Sweet Valley High(?!), and more, but those are the faces I recognise from various television shows, but who says that doesn't mean they aren't good actors and don't deserve a break in a big film?

It'll be interesting to see how Skyline turns out, and looking at the trailer and screen captures I'm thinking the effects are going to be pretty outstanding, and you can pick and choose at the moments that connect you with other alien invasion films, again, no bad thing.

Skyline has me excited and this trailer ramps it up even more for me.
