Meek's Cutoff trailer online

MeeksCutoff.jpgI had no idea about Meek's Cutoff until today, and was surprised to see that it had not only garnered a lot of Festival activity but it also starred Michelle Williams, Paul Dano and Will Patton.

The film looks moody and quite foreboding from the trailer, and we're promised some strong performances from the comments across it, however there are a few issues.

One problem with the trailer is the sound, at times it sounds like the audio is from inside a box, and that's the format for the trailer too. I'm really hoping that this is just a problem with this trailer, but I'm not so sure.

I have the Apple Trailers and a copy of the trailer below for you to watch. It's got some strong audio in it, even if it does sound rather echoy and box-like. Here's the blurb for Meek's Cutoff:

The year is 1845, the earliest days of the Oregon Trail, and a wagon team of three families has hired the mountain man Stephen Meek to guide them over the Cascade Mountains. Claiming to know a short cut, Meek leads the group on an unmarked path across the high plain desert, only to become lost in the dry rock and sage.

Over the coming days, the emigrants must face the scourges of hunger, thirst and their own lack of faith in each other's instincts for survival. When a Native American wanderer crosses their path, the emigrants are torn between their trust in a guide who has proven himself unreliable and a man who has always been seen as the natural enemy.

What do you feel about the trailer?
