Catch .44 trailer with Willis and Whitaker

ForestWhitaker.jpgI never saw this one coming, and while the trailer is a little confusing it does set-up an interesting and complex seeming mix of characters and plot that could deliver a stylish thriller. Plus it stars Bruce Willis, Forest Whitaker, Malin Akerman, Shea Whigham, Nikki Reed and Brad Dourif.

Aaron Harvey wrote and directed the film which marks a big step up for him in terms of profile and cast, and although it does only seem to be gaining a smaller American release on 9th December, its digital release could give it more life.

The trailer for Catch .44 reminds me a bit of the confusion and coming together of the best multi-threaded and multi-character thrillers, suggesting that it will be one of these films that is confusing until it all starts coming together.

What surprises me is the cast that we're looking at, I mean Forest Whitaker and Bruce Willis to just mention the top two names brings the film into a different class.

First Showing has the blurb for the film which goes like this:

Oscar winner Forest Whitaker, Bruce Willis and Malin Akerman lead an all-star cast in this suspense thriller where everyone has an agenda and a Magnum to back it up! For Tes (Akerman) and her two cohorts Kara (Nikki Reed) and Tara (Deborah Ann Woll), were supposed to intercept a double-cross drug shipment for their crime boss Mel (Willis) at an isolated diner. But an unstoppable chain of eventshas everyone realizing no one is who they seem and the job may be more than just eliminating the competition.

The trailer, which they also carry, is below:

I think it looks kind of good, and one that's well worth a look if it happens to be showing nearby, and for those of us outside of America, the DVD, Blu-ray and online release will be close behind.
